About the Role
We’re looking for an AI & Backend Engineer to help build and improve the systems behind Agentra. You’ll work on the AI agent, backend services, ecommerce integrations and real-time support features that power customer conversations across the platform.
This role suits someone who enjoys solving practical product problems, building reliable APIs and turning AI capabilities into features that work safely in real customer support environments.
Your Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Agentra’s backend services and APIs
- Improve AI agent reasoning, tool usage and conversation workflows
- Develop Shopify, WooCommerce and custom store integrations
- Build secure order, customer and product data workflows
- Improve human handoff, real-time messaging and agent collaboration
- Add monitoring, testing and safeguards for AI-driven actions
- Investigate bugs and improve reliability, speed and scalability
- Work closely with product and customer success on new features
Who We Are Looking For
- Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript and backend development
- Experience building APIs, databases and third-party integrations
- Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, prompt design or retrieval systems
- Good understanding of authentication, permissions and data security
- Comfortable debugging complex workflows and production issues
- Able to write clear, maintainable and well-tested code
- Experience with ecommerce or customer-support software is helpful
- Comfortable working independently in a small remote team
